SUMMER SOCIAL TRIAL REPORT

Summer Social Trial Report – Rozel Woods

9th August 2026

Firstly, a huge thank you to Norman for kindly granting us permission to use Rozel Woods for our Summer Social Trial. The venue provided a fantastic setting for a challenging morning of trials, followed by a well-earned BBQ down at the beach.

A big thank you must also go to the setting-out team, in no particular order: Lee Rogan, Richard Blandin, ‘Trick’Ricky Morin , Amanda Wright, Jon Mallen, Joshua Troy and myself. The sections provided plenty of challenges across all routes and certainly tested riders in the summer heat.

Thanks also to everyone who stayed behind after the trial to help clear away the sections. A special mention goes to Dickie Vibert, who was only spectating on the day but rolled up his sleeves and was a tremendous help with the clear-up.

RESULTS

C Route

3rd Place – Amanda Wright – 96 marks

Riding through a dodgy back and still keeping the pressure on Jonny.

2nd Place – Jon Mallen – 91 marks

Just pipping Amanda by a fatal five.

1st Place – Matt Topman – 41 marks

An outstanding ride on his first time out. A well-deserved victory.

C+ Route

Only one finisher in today's gruelling heat:

1st Place – Alan Lloyd – 36 marks

Great to see you back out at a trial, mate!

B Route

3rd Place – James Carrel – 57 marks

A respectable ride in tough conditions.

2nd Place – Richard Blandin – 48 marks

1st Place – Trick Rick – 32 marks

After a while out of the saddle... good job modern trials bikes don't have one!

B+ Route

3rd Place – Steve "Wheelie" Willis – 62 marks

Possibly regretting not making it to the setting-out day!

2nd Place – Conor "El Captaino" Carré – 49 marks

The only B+ bandit to make it through Section 1 as a plus.

1st Place – Ryan "Big Shaq" Gregory – 45 marks

Keeping the feet up despite looking a little wobbly at times and treating everyone to the gun show. He's hoping Trick Rick wasn't too sore waking up this morning catching the fall out from his big one in section 1 first lap.

A Route

2nd Place – Josh "JT" Troy – 49 marks

A valiant effort which included attempting to jump the stream and earning Best Crash of the Day... twice!

1st Place – Lee "The Lamb" Rogan – 35 marks

Proving that age is just a number, whilst making sure Josh doesn't forget it. A superb ride to take the win.

We hope everyone enjoyed the BBQ on the beach afterwards and the chance to catch up away from the sections.

Looking ahead, we return for the start of the second half of the Championship Season on 6th September. Please keep an eye out for Ryan's Observer Commitment Form in the coming weeks. Any rider intending to compete in the championship must submit their completed form before this trial.

Finally, don't forget that entries are now OPEN for the 2026 Cedar Green Two-Day Trial. It's shaping up to be another cracking event, and we look forward to welcoming riders from near and far once again.

Many thanks to everyone who rode, helped set out, cleared away, and supported the event.
