Sorel Point is the home of Motocross for Jersey. This unique track sits on the top of Jersey’s northern coastline. The location makes for exciting racing combined with fantastic views.
There is a spectator area in the centre and all the way down the length of the track, giving 360 degrees view of the racing.
Training and race days begin in March, with a break in June, then commencing again in July through to September for local championship races.
In September, the Northern track plays host to top riders from France, UK and Guernsey with a show stopping, excitement filled, two-day event.
how can i start racing?
Follow the steps below to begin your journey into Motocross Racing.
You can begin with training at our very own practice track at Egypte. From there you can go onto gaining your ACU licence to allow you to compete in championship races at Sorel Point.
how can i spectate?
Parking is available at the visitor’s carpark at Ronez Quarry.
We have marshals in place who can direct you into safe spots to watch the race.
Catering is available on site, so no need to pack a picnic!
Toilets are also available on site.

Register with the ACU and gain your competition licence.
Your bike may require a bit of work. Find out what you may need to do to be competition ready.

WHAT bike do i need?
The ACU set out classes for different ages. Have a look through below to see what is best suited for you or your child.
4-7 years - E4 max 4kw output - 10” Front 10” Rear Wheels
6-8 years - Automatic (50cc) - 15” Front 12” Rear Wheels
7-10 years - 65cc 2 Stroke / 110cc 4 Stroke - 14” Front 12” Rear Wheels
9-12 years - 85cc 2 Stroke / 150cc 4 Stroke - (Small Wheel) 17” Front 14” Rear Wheels
11-14 years - 85cc 2 Stroke / 150cc 4 Stroke - (Big Wheel) 19” Front 16” Rear Wheels
13-17 years - 125cc - 21” Front 19” Rear Wheels
14-17 years - 125cc 2 Stroke / 250 4 Stroke - 21” Front 19” Rear Wheels
18+ years - Any 125cc Upwards - 21” Front 19” Rear Wheels
Can i Give it a go before i commit?
Absolutely!
The Club own a couple of motorbikes to give the sport a go before you decide if it’s for you!
Get in touch with our Motocross team and book in a time to get into the action.
Egypte Track is JMC & LCC’s very own offroad motorbike training ground for its club’s riders.
It is open on Saturdays year-round and allows riders to improve their skills alongside other riders in a relaxed environment.

JMC&LCC Club Members are invited to ride at Egypte.
If you wish to ride up here you will need to purchase an Egypte Key.
You can purchase one of these through your membership portal, or contact the club secretary.

Egypte is the perfect place to bring your child to better their riding skills!
There is a smaller track dedicated to beginners and children.
You’ll often find other parents up there enjoying the atmosphere and picking up their little ones!
Contact the committee if you wish to have some tuition for your child, free of charge!

Egypte is open all year-round!
We limit riding to Saturdays between 1100 and 1600.
If you do decide to ride up at Egypte, you must have another person with you, incase of accident.
Please check in with the Motocross social media page to ensure the track is open that week.
