SPRINTING UNDER THE SUMMER SUN
14th June, 2025
On Saturday, 14th June, the Jersey Motorcycle & Light Car Club returned to Five Mile Road for the second sprint of the 2025 calendar. Under ideal summer conditions, the sun shone brightly, setting the stage for a thrilling day of competition.
Two records would be broken during the meeting, the first claimed by Sam Hunt on his GasGas 250. Setting the pace right from the practice run, Hunt broke the record on the first official run of the day to set a new time of 13.04 seconds for the Supermoto 201-250cc class. With gear ratios not quite optimal Sam took to social media after the event to say "there might be more in it" suggesting a possible return to further improve his time.
On four wheels, James Ahier surpassed his own record in the Road-Going Series Production Unlimited class, piloting his Porsche 911 Turbo S. Chasing his previous best of 11.09 seconds from June 2024, Ahier progressively closed the gap throughout the day. On the final three runs, he lowered the mark, ultimately setting a new record of 11.03 seconds.

Several competitors achieved personal bests, among them Lawra Traylen, Ryan Hidrio and Ben Le Lay. In the "Run What You Brung" class Kevin Waters topped the timing sheets.
The fastest motorcycle time of the day went to Paul Traylen, while Michael Salmon led the car entrants, storming to the quickest finish.
The club extends its gratitude to The Mansell Collection for their continued support in 2025. Speed events continue at Bouley Bay on Tuesday 15th July, hosting a round of the British Hillclimb Championship. Five Mile Road action is set to return on Saturday, 18th October.
