ONE TO WATCH - ADAM VIBERT
After smashing the outright motorcycle record at Bouley Bay last August with a stunning 42.93 seconds, Adam Vibert is firmly one to watch in 2026. That blistering time — the fastest motorcycle run ever recorded up the hill — puts him alongside Matt Le Brun and Oliver Holmes as one of only three riders to have dipped into the 42-second bracket.
Ahead of the Easter Monday opener at Bouley Bay, we caught up with Adam for a few questions.
Any pre-season testing or changes for 2026 you’d like to share?
“I've just returned from a week in Spain with the whole Supermotoland team where we tested some suspension and mapping upgrades, which were positive. We ended the week with a wildcard in the Catalan Supermoto Championship where I was able to podium in my class, so I feel very prepared for this season.”
Walk us quickly through your record-breaking run from last year. What were the conditions like and how did the bike feel?
“It was a very hot day and initially I was sceptical about setting a really quick time because of this. However, we'd been refining the bike setup throughout the year and it felt awesome during practice, so I was comfortable to push. I'd say I rode the first half of the hill to Les Platons better than I ever had before and I'm not sure I'll get Slemans as good again! I then made a couple of mistakes through the top half, but thankfully I'd done enough earlier in the run. It felt amazing to realise I'd set the outright record and I'm very proud especially when looking through the history books and seeing the riders that have previously held it.”
You now hold the outright motorcycle record, and there’s talk of more records potentially on the line this season. Who do you expect to be your main challengers?
“Matt Le Brun will be the main challenger as we have been pushing each other over the last few years. I expect Daniel Lagadu, Jack Clayden and Rory Hidrio to also be battling for podium places. Outside of that there are lots of newer, younger riders which is great to see and I expect a few of those to start making their way up the positions as they gain experience.”
How many years have you been racing at Bouley Bay?
“2026 is my 15th year.”
Favourite moment at the hill?
“It has to be taking the outright motorcycle record last year. However, taking my first record in the 125cc class back in 2013 (which was held by the legendary Steven Jeanne at the time) comes very close.”
Worst moment (or biggest scare)?
“Thankfully I've had few big scares up the hill, so I'd say my worst (and most embarrassing) moment was running out of fuel at Radio Corner the run after breaking the 125cc record!”
Favourite section of the hill and why?
“I love the run through Slemans into Les Platons, as its super-fast and you can make time up if you are brave and precise.”
