Sandracing - Venues
The Jersey Motor Cycle and Light Car Club has a long tradition of sand racing – in fact our Island of Jersey and our sister Island Guernsey is one of the few places in the British Isles where official races are held. Sand racing was introduced at Greve d'Azette, later at St. Brelade's Bay. It is West Park, Millbrook and St. Ouen’s, where the events are now held. We hold about 12 events per year.

Sand Racing is a unique and thrilling event it is held from the end of April through to September and includes Junior cars with drivers from the age of fourteen to Senior cars to any age, our oldest driver at present is over 70. Sand Buggies and Racing buggies also enjoy the racing. Junior bikes start at 50cc all the way through to Senior motorcycle competitors. Sliders (speedway/grass track bikes) also enter the event.  The majority of cars are Production cars in classes of 1400cc: 1600cc and 2000cc and above, this helps keep the cost of the sport down as you can race with a standard road car with a few adjustments. We run a modified production class, which are for cars with town and country tyres on roll cages and modified engines. During the years these events have proved to be most entertaining and popular with both competitors and spectators alike. It is free for spectators to watch  - whether your an avid fan of the racing sport or just curious to watch these talented thrill-seekers zooming around the bay.
