For the first time in nearly 6 years , the JMC & LCC built a sand track on the Millbrook beach Alan Langlois donated the use of his pay loader for free so the track could be built.
The spectators filled the sea wall all afternoon to watch all the excitement for the unique event Bruce Dingle a motox champion had returned to the sand to entertain the crowds. Being Fathers Day a number of father and son team’s were competing Renouard and Jonathan Le Maistre, Steve and Rhys Le Roy, Greg Hawley and Paul Bailache and Michael and Toby Norman all lined up to compete in their relevant classes.
The adult bike class saw a huge entry list with good beach conditions and three challenging jumps, 15 Year old Jamie Howarth won all the races in the adult class on bikes up to 250cc fighting off a further 5 other adults to take all the chequered flags. Jamie gave a spectacular performance over the day showing Bruce Dingle in the up to 450cc class that he was hot on his tail all the way round the course pushing him all the way.
Bruce Dingle showed he is still a force to be reckoned with as he flew over the jumps to take four out of five chequered flags. Tom Mollet a late entry was fighting for second place in all his races with Daniel Lagadu taking a full house chance off of him by taking a first position in race three.
Juniors rocked the beach with many parents holding their breaths as they went over the jumps. Greg Hawley won all five races in his class and showed how superbly he could handle his 85cc big wheel bike. Micha de Gruchy won four out of five races with Joshua Troy taking a first place off of him on the last race of the day. Adam Godwin took all five first places with Joshua Du Four and Toby Norman pushing him hard.
The 50cc Automatic Bikes of which the Sponsor Alan Langlois son Archie took five first places with Kerry Knowles and Renouard Le Maistre finishing second and third.
The day was only possible by the donation of the pay loader by Alan Langlois of A A Langlois whose trucks were vandalized a few weeks ago the Sand Racers owe him a big cup of gratitude. Our thanks to the officials and St Johns Ambulance and Normandy Rescue. |
