Eastern Joinery Ltd Motocross
5 May 2013
Elliot Jackson dominated the Big Wheel 85cc class at Round 4 of the JMC & LCC Moto-x Championship.  Having lapped the field he took the chequered flag in all three races to take the Eastern Joinery Ltd Trophy of the day.  Runner up spot went to Jack Clayden as he was comfortably ahead of third place George Bates from Guernsey.

Joshua Connery was in command of the small wheel 85cc class as he picked up three wins to take an overall commanding lead in the championship.  His only hiccup came in race two when he had a slight problem, but he had enough of a lead to still maintain his lead.  Adam Godwin was second throughout the day, while Damian Ribiero was third overall.  Toby Norman, Rhys Le Roy and Owen Waddington from Guernsey all picked up one fourth place each.

Matt Falloon has not ridden competitively for over 2 years and he made a welcome return as he took the chequered flag twice and runner up spot in the third race.  In the first race Ben Hague and Joshua Hamon both tangled on the start straight and were both last away having to catch the main pack.  They rode well but had to settle for third and fifth place respectively. However in race two Hague took runner up spot but made sure of the chequered flag in the third race.  Jamie Howarth had another excellent event.  He was second in the first race and third in Race three, however in the final race of the day he stalled his bike at the end of the start straight.  He caught up to Hamon and these two battled to the finish flag, with Howarth coming off his bike yards from the flag whilst trying to take the inside line. Brilliant effort from the 14 year old.  Laurie Wheatley rode consistently to maintain the overall championship lead but only 6 points ahead of Hamon

Michael Gautron had two wins in the Veteran class but had mechanical problems in the third race and did not finish.  Mark Birrell took the chequered flag, but Michael Norman had a great day picking up two second places and he leads this overall championship from Gautron.

Toby Luce was in fine form on his KTM 250cc 2 stroke bike as he was unbeatable in the A group races and the Grand Final consisting of 20 minutes plus one lap.  He leads the MX1 class, while the MX2 class is being led by Samuel Allix on his Honda 250F.  It was always a great battle for the ‘holeshot’ in this class and in Race 2 Le Viellez managed to pass Luce but was unlucky to hit the soft ground and ended up on the floor.  He was quick up on his feet and took runner up spot behind Allix.  Meanwhile Matthew Rayson also took the lead in the Grand Final, but he was also unlucky at Sorel Point as he too hit the soft ground and could only watch the rest of the field go pass.   Charlie Morris was celebrating his 18th Birthday and a good day at the event was part of his celebrations.  Declan Hussey had mechanical problems with his bike and rode the first race on a borrowed machine which did not suit his riding style, however luckily he managed to get his own bike ready for the remaining two races.

JMC & LCC Officials thanked the sponsors, Paramedic Jason Hamon and members of SJAB and Normandy Rescue for their attendance, which thankfully was not required.

Round 5 and 6 of the championship take place on the 18th/19th May which Free Admission and Catering on site.
