Clayden Motors Motocross
24 March 2013
Charlie Morris took the Clayden Motors Ltd Trophy of the day in Round 2 of the Jersey Motor Cycle and Light Car Club Moto-x held at Sorel Point, at the weekend.

Riding his KTM 150cc bike, he took three clean wins in the B group and maintains his championship lead in this class.  Josh Hamon took 2nd place in the first race followed by two third places while Laurie Wheatley took a third and two second places.

Jack Clayden took three comfortable wins in the Big Wheel 85cc class and this was the same for Joshua Connery in the Small Wheel 85cc class.  But it was a great day for Luca Darren as he picked up three second places after having a great battle with Damian Ribiero who had to settle for three thirds.

The MX2 class saw two wins for Lee Le Viellez and one win for Sam Allix and Toby Luce took maximum points in the MX1 class, but it was the Grand Final which saw plenty of action.

Coming out of the gates the riders have to turn sharp left and then right.  The ‘20somethings’ Declan Hussey, Dan Moon and Ryno Barette got clear as the ‘Teenagers’ caught themselves in a small pile up at the start.  Le Viellez managed to get away first followed by Luce, Sam Allix, Matthew Rayson and Evan Kaye.  On the third lap Moon took a fall at the bottom table top and put him out of contention.  Having caught Barette, Le Viellez, Luce and Allix were chasing Hussey who had managed to open a descent gap.  Half way through this 20 minute plus one lap race, Le Viellez and Luce had overtaken Hussey and then Luce managed to overtake Le Viellez, but with three minutes remaining Luce got a puncture and this left Le Viellez in a comfortable position to take the Chequered Flag.

Championship Round 3 takes place on 21st April.

The Moto-x committee thanked Paramedic Jason Hamon, Nurse Isobel Hamon, Members of the SJAB and Normandy Rescue and residents of the Parish.  Also to the marshals who braved the cold weather.
